Respect Diversity, Ask for a Revote

There is a great quote in this article from the Seattle PI that the residents of King County should read and take to heart.

    Here is the quote:

Arlene Jones, 76, of Wenatchee, arrived early with two friends to get seats, hoping for a revote that would oust Gregoire.

"She should not be in that governor's mansion right now until we have figured this out and that's why we're here, to figure this out," she said.

"We don't like the voters there in King County having the determination of our government."
I know that the people of King County feel that they are enlightened and really should be running the entire state. But, let's not forget one of our favorite buzzwords, "diversity."

The people of Washington State have views and opinions that are DIVERSE. The views outside King County often diverge from the conventional wisdom in King County.

It's bad enough that the Governor of the entire state was put into office under questionable circumstances, but even worse that one of the few counties she won was King County AND most of the questionable circumstances were in King County.

Look folks, Gregoire may or may not be the legitimate Governor, and some of the magically appearing provisional ballots of King County may or may not have been legitimate, but it is too much to ask of the diverse counties of Washington, who have almost no connection to the fanaticism of Seattle, to swallow a Governor that they are not sure was legitimately elected.

If you really do appreciate, respect, and want a climate that promotes diversity, you will support a revote. The voice of ALL of the people of the state must be heard.
