As you might have noticed, Hillary Rodham is nowhere to be seen on this list. But, make no mistake about it - this was her legislation from the very beginning. You should think of her as the Wizard of Oz behind thick curtains, pulling the levers of this on-going attack on the most basic Constitutional rights of men and fathers.
With both Republicans and Democrats on this list of sponsors, it is obvious that men and fathers do not have friends in either of the major parties. If Republicans were not so interested in near term political benefits and were thinking more towards 2008, they would draw Hillary of Oz out from behind that curtain and make her defend this nasty legislation.

This morning's PeeEye Fishwrapper has a decent size article from Rep. Can't-do-anything-well, banging the big drum about how she is a co-sponsor in the house. In fact, as best I can recall in my foggy morning stupor of 5 ayem, I even think she said she was "the sponsor" in the house, but don't quote me.
Geezer
I'm continually amazed by government lobbying itself. In this case, we have the feds lobbying to keep their anti-family gravy train running.
Since when did government have the constitutional right to set itself apart from society and lobby DC that their crap programs be kept going on taxpaid dime?
Americans are such apathetic fools that they think this is just the way things should be. And government gladly takes that apathy and does whatever the hell it wants.
Right this very minute, some taxpaid fed employee is "lobbying" some weakminded senator or rep to increase another draconian federal program. The entire conversation is paid by taxes, the program is tax-funded, and the lobbyist is at the very least violating the tone of the Constitution concerning separation of powers.
I have been personal witness to much worse: Family court judges in my state lobbying the legislature, on the public record, and against the will of the people. In this particular case, this attempt to deny personal rights was blatantly illegal -- it's expressly against the constitution of the state.
Unless folks figure this issue out and do something about it, society at large is going to keep being left out in the cold while government just runs itself without us.
That the feminazis have already instituted a protected piece of sexist pork the size of Montana and we can't stop them is the tip of a very large iceberg.
Unfortunately, the "iceberg" is the fact that our Constitution is treated as an inconvenience to be worked around like a software bug. That is clearly the larger problem.
VAWA may be only the tip of that iceberg, but it's in our view now and we need to start somewhere.
Gregoire is proof that voting them out wont work. What do we do? They are already doing just as they please regarless of what "We the People" say. When Our vote doesn't please them, they lie about it then then pay Judges to support thier fraud. What can we do at this point?
I don't think I would go so far as to say that they pay off judges, at least not Bridges.
I do agree that Gregoire and company do prettyu much whatever they want in pursuit of their extremist agenda. Lying is obviously one one of them, since Gregoire swore up and down that she would not support raising taxes, then proceeding to sign the largest tax increase in state history.
With regard to the election, I think Judge Bridges pretty much did what he had to do - follow the law. The problem is that the law itself and all of the precedents dictate an impossible standard for proving fraud, even though it was there for us all to see. Election law in Washington State is one of those self-serving laws that supports the Democratic machine. They know how to play the game and have no shyness about doing so.
